Interview with HEADBANG N BUTTON MASH

Review from OPERATION GRINDCORE
Guh, I wish I had listened to this band sooner. Rapturous Grief play the kind of simple powerviolence that I can fall in love with at first listen. All the key ingredients are there, the flail-in-the-mosh-pit riffs, the punchy drumming, and an excellent recording (the distant low end rumbles during the slow parts is a fantastic touch). This is a band that knows what a guitar/drum band should sound like, dynamically. Add a few stop/start riffs in there, and you know I'm sold, baby. Fans of Shitstorm should definitely dig these guys.

Review from RAZORCAKE
Destructive grind in Spanish. This record offers no breathing room, no time to get comfortable. You are going to be assaulted, and you are going to like it. Even the cymbals are primed to slice into your brain matter. You’ll be hearing them ring well after you’ve finished listening to this, begging you to give the record one more spin.  –MP Johnson

Review from Maximum Rock N Roll

A heavy scandinavian hardcore sound is what RAPTUROUS GRIEF seems to have. Or is this an updated Italian hardcore sound? Either way it's raw, fast punk hardcore. I love how the band sounds like they could lose it on almost every track. I keep waiting for one of the tracks to implode, as the band falls apart, and that's a good thing. Maybe more than a scandinavian hardcore sound, it's more of a heavy hardcore meets fastcore. Oh hell, I don't know I just like it. They also carry on the wonderful band tradition of two-person-but-crush-you-into-the-dirt. Oh, they don't sound like Iron Lung or Karp or the Need or Population Reduction but the energy that these duos bring is here! Get this!
